Ajinomoto Promotes Active Lifestyle through ‘aminoVITAL’ with Amino Acids

KUALA LUMPUR, 24th July 2020 – The Ajinomoto Group is known to promote healthy living through its product innovation and diversification. With its specialty in AminoScience to support health and well-being, the Group aims to contribute to better lives for the future by helping people to “Eat Well, Live Well” through the Ajinomoto Group Creating Shared Value (ASV) initiatives.

Since 2003, the ‘Victory Project’ that was initiated by the Ajinomoto Co., Inc. (Ajinomoto Co.), has been supporting the top athletes in Japan with a series of sports nutritional program including the introduction of ‘Winning Meal' Kachimeshi. This serves as one of the ASV initiatives. The Group has now expanded the initiative into other ASEAN countries with the ASEAN ‘Victory Project’ that involves Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad (AMB).

In Malaysia, AMB’s involvement in sports started from the Platinum Sponsorship of Ajinomoto Co. in the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games. The contribution in sports activities continued with the collaboration among the Ministry of Education Malaysia, Bukit Jalil Sports School (BJSS) and AMB in a sports nutrition program named Sports Nutrition Awareness Project. The project aims to enhance the sports nutrition knowledge of student athletes in BJSS and promote a balanced diet referring to the concept of ‘Winning Meal’ Kachimeshi.

In July 2020, AMB is pleased to announce the launch of ‘aminoVITAL’ with amino acids as part of the ‘Winning Meal’ Kachimeshi to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle. “aminoVITAL” is the No. 1 Brand in Japan. It is an apple flavoured drink that comes in jelly form with 3000mg amino acids, mainly Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA). BCAA consists of 3 types of essential amino acids (Leucine, Valine, and Isoleucine) which can only be obtained from diet intake.
