Recipe Description

Want to eat BBQ chicken rice but worried that it is hard to cook? Here we provide a BBQ Chicken Rice Recipe that is easy for you to cook at home. With the aroma of grilled BBQ and the sweet taste of chicken, served hot, oh so good!


Ingredients: Chicken Rice

500 g Rice, soaked for 20 minutes and strained
2 tbsp Butter
5 cloves Garlic, chopped
1 inch Ginger, sliced
1 stalk Cinnamon
1 pcs Star Anise
2 Cardamom Pods
2 strings Pandan Leaf, tie into a knot
600 ml Water 
1 tbsp TUMIX® Chicken Stock

Ingredients: BBQ Chicken

5 pcs Boneless Chicken Thigh
2 tbsp Barbeque Sauce
¼ cup Oyster Sauce
1 tsp Ginger Paste
1 tsp Garlic Paste
½ tbsp Corn Starch
¼ cup Sugar
1 tbsp TUMIX® Chicken Stock
⅛ tsp Red Colouring (optional)

Ingredients: Basting Sauce

4 tbsp Honey
30 ml Water
3 tbsp Marination Sauce, balance from chicken marination


½ stalk Cucumber, sliced
2 strings Spring Onion, chopped



Chicken Rice

  1. Melt the butter on pan, stir-fry garlic, ginger, cinnamon, star anise and cardamom pods until fragrant.
  2. Add in soaked rice with pandan leaves. Mix well and transfer to rice cooker.
  3. Pour in water and TUMIX® Chicken Stock, mix well. Turn on the rice cooker.
  4. Serve with sliced BBQ chicken, sliced cucumber and sprinkle spring onion.

BBQ Chicken

  1. Combine all the marinade ingredients (A) together with TUMIX® Chicken Stock. Marinate overnight in a chiller.
  2. Remove chicken from the marinate sauce. Keep the marinade sauce for basting sauce preparation later.
  3. Grill the chicken for 10 minutes at 200˚C in a preheated oven or air-fryer.
  4. Take it out and brush basting sauce then grill again for another 15 minutes at 200˚C.
  5. Serve with chicken rice.

Basting Sauce

  1. Combine all ingredients, bring to boil.
  2. Keep aside.
