Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad Won Silver Award for the Best Community Programme

Langkawi, 30 March 2017 – Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad (AMB) added another feather to its cap this year with the winning of Silver Award for the Best Community Programme under the category of “companies with market capitalisation less than USD 1 Billion” at the 9th Annual Global CSR Summit & Awards and the Global Good Governance Awards 2017 held in Langkawi, Malaysia.

The Global CSR Summit & Awards and the Global Good Governance Awards are recognised as the most prestigious and respected platform for recognising excellent CSR and governance practices from companies and leading brands from the region and the rest of the world. There were total 146 entries received this year from all over the world but only 38 companies were awarded top honours in the 16 main award categories.

The winning project – “Eat Well, Live Well Together with Umami” was a yearlong project organised by AMB in collaboration with International Medical University and Rumah Victory Elderly Home, Puchong. The Silver Award of Best Community Programme was a great recognition of AMB’s exceptional contributions in promoting a better quality of life and improving the health standards of golden aged population specifically focusing on low sodium and balanced diet intake through a healthy Umami-rich dietary programme.
